Job Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, self-motivated and task oriented individuals to fill in the following vacancies that have arisen in the Finance Department.

Meter Reader: Grade 5 X 13

Duties And Responsibilities
• Creates reading cards onto the area files
• Collects meter readings every first week of the month
• Connects and disconnects water supply for non- paying and defaulting customers respectively
• Captures and reports identified anomalies during the meter readings, e.g. mis-readings, resisting customers, water leakages, illegal connections etc. in the report booklet
• Re-evaluates meter reading accuracies in line with the identified anomalies
• Follows up on defaulters to check for illegal reconnections
• Delivers statements and final demands for payments
• Assists in the payment plan process as liaison officers between the Council and the customer

Qualifications And Experience
• 5 ‘0’ levels including English and Mathematics/ Accounts
• A professional qualification is an added advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
• Be a team player with a solid understanding of the map of Mutare
