Business Consultant: Action Aid

Action Aid Zimbabwe, under its Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme (ZAGP) VALUE CHAIN ALLIANCE FOR LIVESTOCK UPGRADING AND ALLIANCE (VALUE) project seeks the services of a Business Consultant/s to develop training manuals for the Goat and Pork Value Chains.
Duties And Responsibilities
The consultant(s) will be expected to deliver the following: Inception report (digital and hard copies of the assignment. The inception report should cover the methodologies and work plan, Interim report: Raw Data entered, Digital and hard copy of the data collected and analysed, models, diagrams including photographs & contact list of interviewees and workshop participants and key value actors, Draft report and Presentation: Capacity needs assessment report covering both Goat and Pork VCs detailing training needs (technical and non-technical) at farmer, group, anchor, champion, BMU, syndicate, cooperative and integrator level. The report should include recommendations indicating the bottlenecks, opportunities and key topics/issues that can be considered for training to maximizing returns at all levels, Draft Training modules: A total of 10 (ten) training modules (narrative and power point version) that will guide Training of Trainers and Training of Farmer sessions , Stakeholder engagement report (for 2 sessions) and Final training modules: Ten (10) training modules in narrative (in English and Shona version for PVC and English, Shona and Ndebele versions for GVC) and power point format.

Qualifications and Experience Required
The consultant or team must have the following experience and skills: At least 10 years of experience in capacity building of farmers, farmer groups, cooperatives and farmers associations on technical and non-technical training’s, value chain actors capacity needs assessment, sub sector analysis, good understanding of private sector and trade policies including market dynamics, A good understanding of VC specific private sector business win-win business models and market systems development and how to apply the approach in assessments, analysis and training’s of farmers, associations and business development,Experience in working with various Government organizations, NGOs, Donors (USAID, DFID, EU, and UN Agencies) and as a technical resource person as well as consultant, Experience of working in the PVC and GVCs in Zimbabwe, Expertise in curriculum and content development (technical and non-technical), training facilitation, designing and executing high quality documentation and knowledge sharing initiatives and products.
