DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Post: Computer Laboratory Technician (1 Post – Gweru Campus)
HND in Computer Studies/ equivalent.
A good first Honours Degree in Information Systems is an added advantage.
At least 2 years working experience manning a Computer Lab.
Duties & Responsibilities
Performing installation, upgrading, and maintenance of software applications and suites ensuring compliance with license agreements and copyright legislation
Providing user support for staff and students
Advising the Chairperson on technical issues and consult with vendor support agencies to resolve problems and determine equipment requirements
Maintaining an accurate inventory of technical equipment, including system and software configurations and network addressing
Implementing software utilities, installing hardware devices, and developing procedures to ensure the security and reliability of equipment, software, and data resources
Acquiring and maintaining requisite technical skills to accurately diagnose and resolve problems and concerns associated with computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices
Performing assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision
Conducting tutorials and assist in the development of computer projects and innovations.
