My client is looking for a credit clerk who will be reporting to the Credit Controller.

Evaluates and suggests creditworthiness of prospects and customers to decrease financial risk to the organization.

Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent

2+ years of business experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.

Highly organised.
Pro-active and results focused.
Ability to manage day to day business operations
Excellent negotiating skills.
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.

1.Processes applications of individuals applying for credit
2.Interviews applicant to obtain personal and financial data and fills out application.
3.Calls or writes to credit bureaus, employers, and personal references to check credit and personal references.
4.Establishes credit limit, considering such factors as applicant’s assets, credit experience, and personal references, based on predetermined standards.
5.Notifies customer by mail, telephone, or in person of acceptance or rejection of application.
6.Keep record or file of credit transactions, deposits, and payments, and sends letters or confers with customers having delinquent accounts to make payment.
7.Send form letters and brochures to solicit business from prospective customers.
8.Reconcile incorrect credit charges and grant extensions of credit on overdue accounts.
9.Keep record of applications for loans and credit
10.Provide customer credit information or rating on request
11.Check value of customer’s collateral, such as securities, held as security for loan.
12.Submission of batches for collection
13.Provision of Debt Book for chasing up to Debt Collector
14.Call customer by phone or in writing about loan or credit information.
15.Data capturing
16.Any other tasks as delegated by your immediate superior
