GOAL is an international non-denominational, non-governmental and non-political humanitarian organisation dedicated to work towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable in our world and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food, water and sanitation, healthcare and education. We began humanitarian and developmental work in Zimbabwe from 2002 and we are gradually evolving from emergency response to long-term development. Currently our focus is on Livelihoods, Nutrition and WASH.

Position summary
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the primary role of the Graduate Intern is to carry out the day to day cash payments in line with the specified GOAL policies and procedures, ensuring timely cash book reconciliation and reporting. This will include reviewing of field office financial transactions, handling of cash payments, weekly cash counts and closing off cash books on a periodic basis.

Duties And Responsibilities
Summary of Key Duties
Capture payment details and input on spreadsheet in line with the specified policies and procedures for assigned payments; Receive documents into the department, signs for them and record in document movement tracking sheet; Conducting first hand review for incoming documents to finance; Assist the field office staff in financial issues including routine tasks during monthly accounts processing; Filing finance documentation as assigned

Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting or related field; Experience as a student on attachment in an NGO set up desirable; Excellent attention to detail; Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to take direction and work independently; Ability to under pressure, with minimum supervision; Proficiency in using standard Microsoft computer packages
