Job summary
To provide strategic direction and technical advice to WCoZ and it’s operations on Gender related issues.

Job description
Develop and lead the implementation of a gender-sensitive strategy in close collaboration with the team members and program partners, considering the diverse needs and experiences of women and men and ensuring the strategy empowers women to participate and lead project activities as appropriate; Oversee high-quality implementation of the program’s gender-sensitive strategy, ensuring that gender issues are addressed and that opportunities for women’s participation and leadership are seamlessly integrated into the program and aligned to project objectives; Contribute to project planning, ensuring that gender-sensitive activities are included in the production of annual work plans and budgets; Support the program’s M&E staff to collect and analyse indicators related to gender and women’s engagement / empowerment and update the program strategy, as required; Provide and/or ensure the provision of training and mentoring to partners to strengthen their capacity to address gender disparities and women’s inclusion; Provide and/or ensure the provision of training on gender to project staff

Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a relevant subject area, such as social sciences, international development, political science or a related field; At least five years of experience working on gender integration and inclusive approaches to citizen engagement and civil society development; Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in addressing gender disparities and cultivating opportunities for women’s leadership and participation; Demonstrated ability to design and/or implement programs that engage and mobilise women

Preferred Skills/Requirements
Strong management and communication skills, strategic vision, leadership qualities, professional reputation, interpersonal skills, and written and oral presentation skills to fulfil the diverse technical and managerial requirements of the project description; Demonstrated knowledge of the current Zimbabwean context; Experience living and working in Zimbabwe; country nationals strongly preferred.
