POST: GENERAL MANAGER FINANCE
The incumbent will report to the Post Master General and will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
4- Financial reporting – providing audited annual financial statements by April each year, producing monthly and quarterly reports for board,
management and parent Ministry in compliance to company, statutory and government requirements.
Treasury and working capital management – ensuring that financial requirements and obligations of the company are met by covering projects and operations funding in appropriate measures through optimising opportunities, reducing overall costs and taking full advantage of investment opportunities.
rr Assets management – ensuring effective stores administration and accounting systems and proper accounting and reporting of fixed assets including coding and periodic revaluation of assets.
• Systems development – developing and recommending appropriate policies and procedures, sound accounting system and effective internal controls through effective and efficient information technology systems.
• Ensuring full cost plus recovery through effective costing of new products and services and regular reviews in liaison with Deputy Post Master General.
• Input into the formulation of the corporate strategy, vision and mission and developing departmental plans that support the company’s strategic direction.
rr Formulating and consolidation of annual budgets and ensuring measures are in place to monitor and control performance against budget through cost centre evaluation and reporting.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES
Strong analytical skills
Knowledge of relevant legislation eg.income Tax Act Public Finance Management Act, Administrative rules and regulations
Knowledge of economic trends. interest rates. foreign exchange rates and price levels for effective investment and loans administration High professional ethics and expertise
Knowledge of business processes
Ability to manage multiple revenue models
Analysis (problem identification)
Team player and results oriented
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A degree in Accountancy or Finance
Professional qualification such as CIS, ACCA and CIMA will be an added advantage.
10 years relevant experience of which 3 must beat senior managerial level
Proven track record in accountancy, budget formulation and budget control skills.
