INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) ADMINISTRATOR (GRADE 91 (Contract without Limit of Time )

The ICT Administrator will be under the Human and Administration Department and reporting to the Executive Officer HRD, Administration and Social Services

The incumbent will be responsible for inter alia:

• Implementation of ICT strategies and new technologies focusing on achievement of the following results
• Compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures for Murewa Rural District Council technology environment;
• Provision of inputs to elaboration of internal policies and procedures for the use of ICT;
• Participation in the office business process re engineering activities and ensuring that the business needs drive IT solutions related to corporate resources management;
• Development and update of the ICT Annual Work plan and Reporting;
• Provision of ad vice on and assistance in procurement of new ICT equipment for the Office, provision of technical specifications and information on best options in both local and international markets
• Ensure effective coordination of ICT helpdesk functions and provide support to the Council Head Office and Macheke Sub Office focusing on the achievement of the following results-
• Planning, scheduling, monitoring and ensuring resolution of Helpdesk tasks;
• Provide support and training to staff on office automation applications;
• Install and administer the Office ICT applications and data telecommunication facilities. This involves administering data security for end user access to such network and or/facilities and troubleshooting ad – hoc hardware or software problems experienced on the network or facilities;
• Management of the Council hardware and software packages focusing on the achievement of the following results-
• Provision of advice on maintenance of equipment and acquisitional hardware supplies;
• Supervision of the implementation of Murewa Rural District Council ICT systems
• Network Administration;
• Systems Administration;
• Facilitation of ICT knowledge building and knowledge sharing

Qualifications And Experience

Qualifications and Attributes

• A Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or Higher National Diploma in Information Technology
• A minimum of one year experience working in an Information Communication Technology environment
