AGRICULTURAL MARKETING AUTHORITY – AMA
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill in the position listed below that has arisen within the Agricultural Marketing Authority, a statutory body with a mandate to regulate the participation in the production, marketing and processing of agricultural products in Zimbabwe.
POSITION: MARKETING OFFICER
Duties And Responsibilities
The Marketing Officer will have the following specific responsibilities:
i. To undertake research on food security, assessing supply and demand trends of agricultural products, agricultural prices, marketing and trade and advise management on appropriate action and follow up.
ii. To inform management on agricultural sector plans and policies pertaining to pricing and marketing of agricultural products.
iii. To facilitate registration and maintenance of a database of marketing institutions, traders/buyers and processors and marketing boards.
iv. To monitor the activities of marketing institutions and administer returns for the supply of information by buyers, processors and marketing boards.
v. To carry out inspections to ensure compliance with marketing regulations including quality standards.
vi. To compile and analyse data collected and maintain market information system.
vii. Provide secretariat services to marketing technical committees of the Authority.
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications and Experience
• A university degree in agricultural economics or related discipline.
• A post graduate degree would be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years’ working experience.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of economic research skills.
