IMC is seeking qualified candidate (for maternity leave cover) for a USAID-funded Development Food Assistance Program (DFAP). The program’s strategic objectives are: SO1: Improved household access to, and availability of food; SO2: Communities made more resilient to shocks; SO3: Nutrition and health among pregnant and lactating females, boys and girls under 2 improved
The Nutrition Officer will contribute to the strategic objective related to health and nutrition and implement the SO3 program activities at district level. Expected responsibilities will include but are not limited to: support to care groups at community level; supporting the provision of conditional food rations to Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW) and children under 2 and supporting the integration of nutrition into health care services amongst health centres and community level health workers. These activities will incorporate the tenets of the first 1,000 days approach
The candidate should have at least a first degree in Nutrition or Health Promotion and at least two (2) years of experience in the relevant field.
The ability to speak isiNdebele is an added advantage.
