Our client – a local leading Insurance Company with International Alliance is seeking to fill in the above position:
JOB PURPOSE
Manage potential risk & financial loss to the organisation associated with stakeholder interface in business operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, design and implement an overall risk management process for the organization.
Develop and ensure Board approved Compliance and Risk Policies and Procedures are clearly communicated to Management and Members of Staff to eliminate or minimize the risk of breaches of regulatory requirements.
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of Internal Control Framework and submitting recommendations for implementation and improvement while ensuring implementation of Board and Committee resolutions.
Ensure compliance with Statutory & Regulatory requirements across the business including on time and in full remittances with no penalties or litigation levelled against the company.
Participate in Special Projects through drafting of Trust Deeds for new funds, ensuring that Trust Deeds are registered with SECZ and that the Fund is managed in line with the Trust Deed provisions.
Conduct risk assessments and prepare evaluation, reports and recommendations to all relevant stakeholders for awareness, accountability and prudent decision making.
Oversee and enforce adherence to corporate governance tenets.
Conduct audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors to ensure Directors, management and employees are in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES
Mature, analytical and independent reviewer with good eye for detail
Ability to dissect a transaction and make sense of it
Experience in dealing with high level risk issues and mitigation simulation
Problem solving and ability to understand broad business issues
Good numerical & cost evaluating skills
Excellent communication, planning and organising skills
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
High level academic and professional qualification in either Banking & Finance, Economics, Statistics or Financial Risk Management.
Corporate banking experience at Senior Level.
