Introduction & Background
The Zimbabwe Evaluation Association (ZEA) is a membership-based organization that exists to serve the evaluation community and promote quality evaluation practice in Zimbabwe. The Association works under the vision of “A Zimbabwe with a culture of quality evaluation that contributes to improved lives and conditions for citizens”. The association also exists to build partnerships with policy makers to utilize evaluation findings and disseminate evaluation information to stakeholders. The Association is affiliated to the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA) and recognized as a ‘Voluntary Organisation of Professional Evaluators’ (VOPE) by the International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE). The purpose of ZEA as an institution is to ensure that programmes are evaluated; evaluations are credible; findings are used to inform policies or development interventions and that results contribute to sustainable development

In June 2019, an elective AGM was held to put in place a new board of directors. ZEA would like to thank the previous board members for their hard work and overall governance of the Association during their tenure. As the new Board Members take up their positions for the period 2019-2021, it is paramount that they are sensitized on ZEA systems and structures that have been established and their roles and responsibilities forthwith are well-articulated to them.
The aim is to help new board members to understand the organisation, the environment in which it operates and their role in making the organisation a success.
